This contract involved the supply and lay of 80,000 tonnes of asphalt and laying cement bound materials (CBM) on highways, car parks, footpaths and between the tram tracks as phase 2 of the NET network was constructed across Nottinghamshire.

Contracted by the Joint Venture Partnership (Vinci / Alstom) who were main contractor to the client (Tramlink), the project involved the supply of labour, plant and materials on measured rates as the sole surfacing works supplier.

The selection was in no doubt down to the well established relationships with Tramlink and the major stakeholder Nottingham City Council – for whom Thomas Bow City Asphalt have been the highway surfacing partner for many years.

Teams were required to work closely with section engineers in the delivery of schemes, consulting on traffic management requirements ensuring safe working operations while mitigating disruption to the public.
