Thomas Bow City Asphalt were delighted to continue their work across the region with the latest project with Leicester City Council. The improvements carried out incorporated five sites across the city with pavement works in Coleman Road and Mansfield Street and further carriageway works in Saffron Lane and Welford / Victoria Park Road junction.

The works included the use of BBA HAPAS clause 942 Thin Surface Asphalt over a concrete surface in certain locations. To provide a durable high quality surface, the project involved the use of Glasgrid® under the wearing course to dissipate stresses horizontally on the road.

The project, overseen by Contracts Director Alex Gardner, included careful traffic management around hospitals and sports fixtures in these busy city centre locations and close liaison with the client to ensure that the works were carried out inline with other schemes across the city.
