An exciting opportunity as a Yard/Vehicle Maintenance Operative with Thomas Bow Limited who are a leading company within the Civil Engineering, Highways and Surfacing Industry. The company has an extensive track record of successful operation across the UK, and this is an excellent opportunity to join our team at the Moorfield farm, Oxton depot.

We are looking for an individual with an interest in motor vehicle / heavy industry plant equipment maintenance and repair, to join the team and to assist around the depot as required.

Key duties:

• Carry out vehicle inspections, repair, maintenance, and servicing including fault finding, analysis to facilitate repairs, improvements, inspections, adjustments, and refurbishments to manufacturers standards.
• Repair/ replace defective parts.
• Carry out PPM maintenance and record all details of inspections.
• Abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved Company safety policies & processes and other relevant legislation is followed.
• Report details of work carried out and faults found to the management team and recorded on maintenance managements systems.
• Work as part of a close team.
• Assist with other yard duties as required to assist in the day to day running of the depot.

We are looking for the following experience (but not essential):

• Driving and operation of mobile plant equipment, fork-lift trucks, rollers, etc
• Fault finding and problem solving on a range of commercial vehicles/ mobile plant equipment.
• Experience with vehicles maintenance with an interest in working with heavy plant.
• Ability to read and fully understand electrical and hydraulic circuit drawings.
• Interest in general maintenance.
• Able to work under their own initiative.
• Able to work at height.
• Fork-lift trained.
• Completed a recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds Mechanical qualification or relevant NVQ Level 2
• IOSH Working Safely.

Desirable Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
