Apprentice – Highway Surfacing Operative

We are looking to develop the skills of our next group of highway surfacing operatives with people who are willing to learn and develop themselves joining a 2 year programme, involving 1 day per week with our training partner in Nottinghamshire and 4 days per week in our teams gaining valuable practical experience.

 

What you will gain

Key Responsibilities:

Work independently using your own initiative

Maintain a safe working environment

Undertake principles of highway maintenance and highway surfacing

Safely locate underground services

Ensure that work is completed to a high standard within a reasonable time scale

Communicate with the foreman as and when required

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Full driving license would be an advantage, but not mandatory.

• Self-motivated and organised

• Reliable and hardworking approach

• Good communication skills

• Willing, helpful, and enthusiastic

• Able to continue to learn and take on new tasks

• Able to adapt to different working conditions and flexible on working out of hours
