Road Maintenance

Virtually all roads require some form of maintenance before they come to the end of their service life and Thomas Bow City Asphalt have extensive experience of repairing pot holes, cracks and uneven surfaces.

We continually monitor road conditions and apply preventive maintenance treatments as needed to prolong a road's lifespan. Maintenance treatments for asphalt concrete include crack sealing, surface rejuvenating, fog sealing, micro-milling and surface treatments. Thin surfacing preserves, protects and improves the functional condition of the road while reducing the need for routine maintenance, leading to extended service life without increasing structural capacity.

In addition, we can also assist in road-sweeping and cleaning, using up-to-date plant and equipment and working closely with clients to ensure minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.

During the autumn, we draft in extra personnel to assist with leaf-collection on the highways, car parks and footways. Because the leaves from highways and footpaths may not be disposed of as recyclable garden waste they are instead taken in bulk by lorry to a licensed tip.

It is company policy to use up-to-date plant and equipment and major items are replaced after a set period, before they cease to be efficient. As an ecologically-aware company we endeavour always to use equipment which endorses our policy.

"Our Group aspire to be first choice for Civil Engineering & Surfacing, combining a skilled workforce with the latest technology & traditional values."
